
The Penny Loafer Wins Bid for The Conservation Foundation's Annual Farm to Fork event.
The second annual Farm to Fork Dinner at McDonald Farm took place on Saturday, August 12th, 2018 at The Conservation Foundation's McDonald Farm, in Naperville, IL. The McDonald Farm sets the stage for The Conservation Foundation, who's primary mission is to "improve the health of our communities by preserving and restoring natural areas and open space, protecting rivers and watersheds, and promoting stewardship of our environment."
This most pleasant of evenings included:
A four-course world-class dinner, including wine, prepared by Chef Paul Virant, owner of three critically-acclaimed Chicago-area restaurants, served by The Penny Loafer, Inc.
Organic vegetables grown right on McDonald Farm by the Green Earth Institute, the organic farming operation who leases their farmland.
Live music to set the mood, including a dulcimer, string bass and guitar.
We are so proud to have been involved in such a great cause!

The Penny Loafer Supports WDSRA in Annual Fundraiser
On Saturday, March 3, 2018, Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) held its signature event The Black & Red Bash at The Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for WDSRA and all the money raised goes to support children, teens, and adults with special needs right here in our communities. Last year this event raised an unprecedented amount exceeding $150,000 and was attended by over 375 local parents, community members, business owners, and government officials. The Penny Loafer was honored to participate this year by donating services as a part of one of the most anticipated prizes of the night, an elegant dinner for eight, surrounded by over $1M in sports and collector vehicles valued at over $3,000.
The winners, four local couples, enjoyed a truly a priceless fine dining experience for eight guests at Iron Gate Car Condo amongst a large collection of classic and modern cars. Dinner was prepared by chef Ian Del Castillo, and served by The Penny Loafer, Inc. To add to the experience, Sommelier, Nadine Roy paired and served California wines from the Napa Valley with each course. The Iron Gate Condo space with the collection was Donated by Dave Kelsch.
